TuneUp Utilities is a suite of tools aimed to improve your system’s performance. However, this set of tools goes beyond just cleaning your PC as it incorporates other functions, such as file backup and recovery, file wiping and Windows customization.

It has a nicely designed and intuitive interface, with the Start Center as its main element. From it, you can easily access most features. For instance, you can have an overall idea of your system’s status as well as the list of steps that the program recommends to solve the issues found. Likewise, a set of tabs organizes the available functions in groups like Optimize Computer, Clean up Computer, Fix Problems and Customize Windows.

The application allows you to perform various types of tests. A deep system scan will thoroughly explore your Registry and check your disk defragmentation status, as well as other type of problems. This type of scan is advisable right after installing TuneUp Utilities, and from then on, you can run the one-click cleanup, which is faster. Moreover, you can check for problems on specific PC areas. One interesting feature is the availability of three PC optimization modes, allowing you to configure your PC to achieve a proper balance between power consumption and performance according to a specific type of task.

TuneUp Utilities is being constantly improved. Therefore, new useful features have been introduced in its latest versions. These include TuneUp Browser Cleaner and TuneUp Disk Cleaner. Luckily, unlike other similar applications, TuneUp Utilities perceptibly improved my system’s performance in such aspects as Windows boot time, disk access speed and copy speed. Moreover, my computer was more responsive as the time applications took to appear on screen was considerably reduced. Unfortunately, the price of this product can be considered somewhat high, mostly when there are free applications with similar features.
